Prowincja Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Prowincja Ayutthaya - Tajlandia |
Prowincja Ayutthaya Ang Thong należy do centralnych prowincji
(changwat) Tajlandii.
Sąsiaduje z prowincjami Ang Thong, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Pathum Thanii, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom i Suphan Buri. Deep in the Central Plains of Thailand is a great spiritual treasure. The ancient temple of Nakhorn Luang Palace enshrines a Buddha Footprint. For centuries, people have made long journeys to come here to pray and to give thanks that the Buddha walked the Earth. This temple has been an active monastery since 1631 and was a very important temple to the royal King. The central tower resembles a Chinese pagoda while the rest of the monument is built in the style of Angkor Wat. Bang Pa-In Royal Palace , also known as the Summer Palace, is a palace complex formerly used by the Thai kings. The palace is located on the Chao Phraya River bank in Bang Pa-In district, Ayutthaya Province. King Prasat Thong originally constructed the complex in 1632, and though it lay empty and overgrown throughout the late 18th and early 19th century, King Mongkut began to restore the site in the mid-1800s. Most of the present buildings at the Bang Pa-In Palace complex were constructed between 1872 and 1889 by King Chulalongkorn. The facilities include vast gardens and landscaping, Wehart Chamrunt (Heavenly Light), a Chinese-style royal palace and throne room; the Warophat Phiman (Excellent and Shining Heavenly Abode), a royal residence; Ho Withun Thasana (Sages' Lookout), a brightly-painted lookout tower; and the Aisawan Thiphya-Art (Divine Seat of Personal Freedom), a pavilion constructed in the middle of a pond. Bang Pa-In Palace remains largely open to visitors, as King Bhumibol Adulyadej and his family use it only rarely for banquets and special occasions (the royal family lives in Bangkok). The palace is located on route from Bangkok to the ancient city of Ayuttaya and many tour companies stop there on the way to Ayuttaya. After visiting the ancient city of Ayutthaya and learning about the capital of the kingdom of Siam (today Thailand), we took a boat on our way back to Bangkok (already included in the trip) in the Chao Phraya river. The river cruise takes a couple of hours but it is very comfortable and with good Thai food. By cruising in the Chao Phraya river from Ayutthaya we can see temples, Buddha statues and villages, until we get to the skyscrapers of Bangkok. Prowincja Ayutthaya |
