Prowincja Tak należy do prowincji (changwat) Tajlandii Północnej. Sąsiaduje z prowincjami Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani i Kanchanaburi. Prowincja graniczy również z Birmą.
